Fashion app of the future

I don’t know about you, but I wake up every morning and have a difficult time figuring out what to wear. By creating an iPhone app that tells you what the weather is going to be for that day, along with possible outfit choices, ones life will be made a lot easier.  I am definitely not a morning person, and picking out an outfit without stepping foot outside has always been a challenge for me.  I know there are a lot of people out there that have the same dilemma as I do, and would find this app to be incredibly useful.
This app will be targeted towards people age’s 18- 35.  It will tell you how the weather is going to change through out the day, and if it is necessary to bring additional clothing in case it is going to change drastically.  One is able to specify the type of attire they looking for in their closet, anywhere from casual to formal.
There is currently an iPhone app called Cloth.  This app only uses outfits that you have previously worn and put together.  With this app, one must take pictures of ALL the clothing in their closet.  It will then be able to match a variety of different pieces of clothing together based on what the weather is going to be outside for that day. The user must separate each piece of clothing into specific categories from what it is to where they would wear it.  This is a huge step passed what Cloth is portraying.  Although it will be its competitor, this app will become more personal with its users.  In the beginning, one must be able to portray their style by uploading pictures of past outfits worn and how they would categorize that specific outfit.  It is going to take some time for the app to truly understand ones personal style.  As the user continues to use the app, it will be able to generate outfits based on current fashion trends and personal style.  The app will gain a personal connection with its user.  Creating this app will help make everyone’s lives easier, along with mine.

  1. This is a great idea, especially when it can give you outfits based on the fashion trends since I have problem in the morning of choosing my outfits too. I'm thinking if you can incorporate promotions and advertisement of clothes with your app, it would be more profitable.

  2. The app requires one to take pictures of all of their clothing...that is a LOT of work when it seems like just going onto weather.com to see how the weather is changing per hour is much easier. I would recommend changing the app to make it easier for the user instead of having to have a photo shoot with their closet; perhaps the app just categorizes sweaters, shirts, pants, shoes, etc into specific groups like thin knit, t-shirts, leggings, and boots?

  3. I found an app which not only shows you what to wear but talks you through what accessories you also need to wear or put on based on the weather conditions outside. The apps called 'What to Wear" and is on itunes.
