Computer Forensics

What should I wear today? is an iPhone app of the future.  With this app, one is given various outfit choices based on what the weather is outside.  With this app, one takes pictures and stores articles of clothing onto their application software.  It sorts the clothing based on what it is, occasion, season, and style.  It is a personal database that is specific to ones' own closet.

In the sixth week 6 of IST 195, we continued our study on Computer forensics. We learned about the importance of backing up files and defragmenting. I learned about the importance of backing up files because hard drives only last from about 3 to 5 years. Data can thus be easily lost; therefore backing up information will always be in your favor. This is important for both business and home/personal users. We learned about ICloud computing, a way of backing up information to an Internet site such as Mozy.   This allows for information to be stored in another database and saved forever. I learned that a computer usually stores a large file in fragments, which makes a computer run much slower.  Therefore, defragmenting a computer is usually essential because it makes the computer run a lot faster. We also learned about hard drives and all of their components: such as platters, tracks, sectors, and the actuator arm, which is guided by electromagnetic pulses.
