Final Post

What Should I Wear Today? is an iPhone app of the future.  With this app, one is given various outfit choices based on what the weather is outside.  With this app, one takes pictures and stores articles of their clothing onto their application software.  It sorts the clothing based on what it is, occasion, season, and style.  It is a personal database that is specific to ones' own closet.

Throughout this semester I have been able to develop my entrepreneurial idea into a more realistic product.  With each weeks lecture, I have been able to create a great product that I know could be used by the general public.  There are many people out there who have the same problem as I do and have a difficult time trying to figure out clothing options for specific occasions and the weather outside.  With this application, it is supposed to make everyone’s lives easier each day.  By advertising this product in the right way and to the right people it is inevitable that this product will be successful.  Customers are what keep a business open and without them, What Should I Wear Today? would not be able to exist.

Customer satisfaction is what comes first in the successfulness of any product.  It is important to discover a certain target market to initially test out the product before it is released to the general public.  Both boys and girls can use this product, and be happy with it.  Many people rely on their IPhones, and technology now a day.  This application is a simple way of creating a trendy and outgoing outfit that makes you yourself. One just needs to be patient when they are first starting to use it.  After they have set up all of their personal settings, it should be very easy to use.

The application is teamed with numerous weather stations in order for this entrepreneurial idea to be a reality.  This product could really be successful if it were to actually be created.  I hope that in the near future that someone else also thinks of this idea so that people can make getting dressed for an occasion easier.

Overall, I am very satisfied in the way that What Should I Wear Today? has developed over the course of this project and this course.  I have been able to create a product that would definitely be useful and successful in the apple application world.  I have pitched this idea to many of my friends who wish that this idea could be created and that they could use it for themselves.  By initializing the target market, this product would be successful the moment it hit the ITunes store.  Although the thought development, and creation of the product will take a significant amount of time and money, it is well worth to create something that you know is going to be successful in the everyday world.

Computer Security

What should I wear today? is an iPhone app of the future.  With this app, one is given various outfit choices based on what the weather is outside.  With this app, one takes pictures and stores articles of clothing onto their application software.  It sorts the clothing based on what it is, occasion, season, and style.  It is a personal database that is specific to ones' own closet.

Computer security is something that is affecting everyone’s businesses to date.  It is applied to computers and their networks as a branch of computer technology known as information technology.  It is a way of protecting information from theft, corruption, or natural disaster from unwanted users, while it still being accessible by its intended users.  It is implemented so the public has no actual way of tampering with specific programs or networks.

With any application it is important that the primary software and computer is protected from being tampered with.  This is where computer security comes into place.  Every major program has security so that people are unable steal someone else’s data and information.  I should be the only one that is able to access and give access to people that are able to use and update What Should I Wear Today?  All programs should be protected from all untrustworthy and unauthorized individuals.  We do not want anyone to be tampering with this well thought out and soon to be created application.  Computer security should be enforced to not only applications and databases but also to individual’s computers.  It is incredibly easy for anyone to hack onto someone’s computer without notice and take all the programs data.  Therefore everyone should install a form of computer security onto their computer in order to guarantee security to all users.

Operating Systems

What should I wear today? is an iPhone Application of the future.  With this app, one is given various outfit choices based on what the weather is outside.  With this app, one takes pictures and stores articles of clothing onto their application software.  It sorts the clothing based on what it is, occasion, season, and style.  It is a personal database that is specific to ones' own closet.
An Operating System is a collection of software that manages computer hardware resources and provides common services for computer programs.  The operating system is an essential component of the system software in a computer system.  All application systems require an operating system to function.  Professor Rubin taught us that an operating system manages hardware and software resources that include the processor, memory allocation, disk space, and input/output sources. Some of the operating systems that we learned about were Windows MAC OS, Linux, and Unix. We learned about "multitasking" and the different types of multitasking, which are: 1) single tasking, 2) cooperative multitasking, and 3) pre-emptive multitasking. We learned about the kernel, which is the central component of an OS. We learned how CPU, memory, and devices (hardware) connect to the kernel (operating system) that enables a connection to applications (application software) and the different layers of an operating system.  We also learned about open source software, IP rights (intellectual property rights) and the differences between patents, trademarks, copyrights and copy left.  Operating systems can be found on almost any devise that contains a computer; from cell phones and video game consoles to supercomputers and web servers.  The operating system plays a major roll in all software’s.  Without it applications would not be able to function.
Without the operating system, the What Should I Wear Today? App would not have been able to be created.  The operating system is where all the important aspects of the app are formulated and put together.  It is always important to copyright a product so that people do not feel the need to copy your product.  Out there, there are many similar products/ apps that are similar to the one that I have come up with. The operating system is the beginning of the creation of the application and where all the ideas are formulated and then put together.  This is where the specifics of the application are tweaked and altered before releasing the product to the market.  The memory of all the clothing is stored through the operating system.  Without memory, it will be difficult for the application to store all the owner of the applications clothing.   The operating system of the application allows for updates to be circulated to all the users.  All applications are continuously updated and changed as time goes on, so it is important to constantly be improving and restructuring a product.  It is important to stay up to date with all product software’s.  With the constant change in technology, a product can be considered “old” in less than a week.  I wish to eventually create this product in the near future, or for someone else to.  It would be incredibly useful and well used by everyone.

Blog Review Post

According to technorati, http://www.engadget.com/ is considered to be the best technology blog right now.  "Engadget is a web magazine with obsessive daily coverage of everything new in gadgets and consumer electronics." Topics of this blog range from cellphones, cameras, desktops, Internet, robots, science, and much more.  The website is incredibly well organized into various interesting and indulging topics.  It has pictures, videos, podcasts, reviews on various technology, and a store where one can buy the blogs merchandise.  This blog helps collaborate many bloggers who have an amazing idea of how technology is continuously changing.
Technology is not the subject that I feel that I know the most about.  It takes me a lot longer than most people to get used to the changes that have been occurring each year in technological advances.  One aspect of my life that I hate most is change.  Now that technology is continuously changing faster and faster, it feels as though my life is.
Mark Hearn is a notable blogger on the Engadget website.  He blogs almost daily on this website on up to date and interesting topics.  His topics range from T-Mobile, Kindles, Foursquare, Gmail, and many more.  He is very opinionated into what he believes in, and is not scared to express how he feels on technology.  He gears more of his blog posts on specific advances in technology rather than over all concepts.  He seems to enjoy what he discusses in each blog and puts his heart and soul into each post.

Comparative Analysis

What should I wear today? is an iPhone app of the future.  With this app, one is given various outfit choices based on what the weather is outside.  With this app, one takes pictures and stores articles of clothing onto their application software.  It sorts the clothing based on what it is, occasion, season, and style.  It is a personal database that is specific to ones' own closet.
There is currently an iPhone app called Cloth.  This app only uses outfits that you have previously worn and put together.  Another app is called Netrobe.  With this app one must take pictures of all items in closet, and one is able to mix and match different clothing based on categories. With my app, one must take pictures of ALL the clothing in their own closet.  One will then be able to match a variety of different pieces of clothing together based on what the weather is going to be outside for that day. This application is combining both the weather and fashion into one program.  The user must separate each piece of clothing into specific categories from what it is to where they would wear it.  This is a huge step passed what Cloth is portraying.  Although it will be its competitor, this app will become more personal with its users.  In the beginning, one must be able to portray their style by uploading pictures of past outfits worn and how they would categorize that specific outfit.  My application is a mixture of both applications together but also adds more of a personal aspect to it. This will allow the user to personify their application to their own style.

Exam/ Photoshop

What should I wear today? is an iPhone app of the future.  With this app, one is given various outfit choices based on what the weather is outside.  With this app, one takes pictures and stores articles of clothing onto their application software.  It sorts the clothing based on what it is, occasion, season, and style.  It is a personal database that is specific to ones' own closet.

This week on Monday we took our midterm.  I studied for a significant amount of time for this exam, but I did not do as well as I wanted to.  Multiple choice exams always give me a difficult time.  I usually am able to figure out the correct answer, but it is sometime difficult to be able to.  I studied over a period of three days.  The way I studied was, I looked over all of my notes taken in class, which were separated by weeks, as were the power points, and I looked over all of the power points along with them. I then looked at the midterm review sheet and filled out all of the definitions and explanations for each of the terms that Professor Rubin said was going to be on the midterm . I did this for about 20 min. each day and then for 3 hours Sunday and Monday night.

I was one of the last people in the class to finish the exam.  It usually takes me a good amount of time to go over my answers.  I felt very confident once I finished because I had studied for such a significant amount of time.  I tried my best. Professor Rubin also told us that if we attended class every day, we would do very well on the midterm. I did attend class every day and every term that was on the midterm was one that I remember learning about in class.  I know that this study tactic will help me do better on the final exam.

In this weeks lab, we were required to use photoshop.  I have always heard about this program, but never have gotten the opportunity to use it.  I found it incredibly interesting and is a great way to edit pictures. It has options of enhancing, highlighting, crystalizing, tinting, and sharpening.  I consider this to be the most dense program to fully understand.  It offers a bunch of different options that are not available in iphoto. I love taking pictures and am now happy that I have an account that I can use to edit pictures.

Computer Forensics

What should I wear today? is an iPhone app of the future.  With this app, one is given various outfit choices based on what the weather is outside.  With this app, one takes pictures and stores articles of clothing onto their application software.  It sorts the clothing based on what it is, occasion, season, and style.  It is a personal database that is specific to ones' own closet.

In the sixth week 6 of IST 195, we continued our study on Computer forensics. We learned about the importance of backing up files and defragmenting. I learned about the importance of backing up files because hard drives only last from about 3 to 5 years. Data can thus be easily lost; therefore backing up information will always be in your favor. This is important for both business and home/personal users. We learned about ICloud computing, a way of backing up information to an Internet site such as Mozy.   This allows for information to be stored in another database and saved forever. I learned that a computer usually stores a large file in fragments, which makes a computer run much slower.  Therefore, defragmenting a computer is usually essential because it makes the computer run a lot faster. We also learned about hard drives and all of their components: such as platters, tracks, sectors, and the actuator arm, which is guided by electromagnetic pulses.
